Mad Monkey Music was initiated in 1980 in North Hollywood, California, USA as a home for the music and retail activities of its owner who was already fully employed in a sector of the music industry for a large corporation. In 2006, the owner relocated to Waxahachie, Texas USA.

Mad Monkey Music participates in music performance, composition and production, retail sales and marketing and information services, including website design and support and a recorded music reference archive.
